It's wrong (and rightfully so) to bash people on their ethnicity (Hispanic, black, Chinese, Jewish, ect), but a special exception apparently exists for the French. Why does everyone make the French out to be condescending snobs? Some of the nicest people I've ever met were French.

Because many people forget, or never knew, how much the French helped us (the colonists) in the war of independence. They also forget or don't know that the losses that the French have suffered over the years, fighting for freedom.

In WWII, Eisenhower recognized the Vichy government which overthrew the legitmiate government & sent 75,000 French Jews to the gas chambers. During the occupation, the French lost a third of a million civilians opposing the Germans - that is NOT a country that lies down & gives up.

But, having spent 6 months living in Paris when I was younger, I found the French aren't very friendly - until you speak French. Seems fair, you go to someones country - you speak their language.

Well, they are generally snobs...not necessarily individually.
The way I take it is they hate Americans, and Americans hate them...in general.

they keep asking for it. To become a scapegoat one must first be nominated. THEN one must ACCEPT the nomination.
