No we don’t get those bonus points from positive ratings on our best answers.
As per Yahoo Answer team blog, the relationship between points and ratings will evolve over the next few months, but they intend to match our point system to reward answers that the community thinks is high quality.

I am confused too! I have been of YA for a few weeks due to vacation and stuff and I come back and it's different. Not sure how it works, kinda answering this question just to see if you still get 2 points for answering.
Do you still lose points for asking? Do you get 10 points for best answer? I have given more questions to your question...defiantly not a thumbs up but at least more thought!

That's right. Doesn't it suck. Rating questions was something that could be done with one hand while having a cigarette. Now we have to type everything....oh I forgot we can still vote and get a point.

I don't think you get points for rating answers either. I thought you used to.

I wish I had the option to rate! I'm still in level 1 -- it's taking me forever to get to level 2!
