Feelling alone in the middle of a crowd

Sometimes I can't wait to BE alone. Being alone is sometimes a good thing. Use it to your advantage - find things to do for yourself - or go out and meet people. Find a fun hobby -- or learn something new.

Don't go along with the crowd. I was in a nightclub with friends, and they were all having a great time. Not me, I thought- how shallow is this? Everybody pissed and not giving a damm about each other. Gimmie a good deep conversation with one good friend anyday of the week. Talk about stuff that matters. You don't need anybody else, the only person, unless you are a junky or an alcoholic, is yourself. I learnt along time ago, there'll be always some-one out there to piss on your parade. Since I know this, life is better in every way.

Is that how you feel or are you defining loneliness?

If it is how you feel, you really are not alone. Look around for a sympathetic friend who will cheer you up. You can find someone. There are a lot of people here at "answers" who will talk to you.

When you find yourself feeling alone in a crowd, get the focus off of yourself. Look at the faces of the people around you. Do they look happy? I bet most of them don't. Everyone has their own problems to deal with. Sometimes when you start to focus on other people you forget how lonely you are.

Been there....well, are you lonely or are you alone? Do you have anyone to talk to?! Just try and think of stuff to do that will cheer you up, when I´m feeling down I usually listen to music or try and sit down by the piano and express myself through music, that´s always been the best for me...

It's the worst feeling in the world isn't it.
I'm right there with you on this one.

If you can't find someone to talk to. Writing it all down may help.

Hang on in there.
