Becoz somebody could get hurt once the whole gun will blast like a barrarge or shrapnels upon hitting him He's the man of steel fur cryin out loud and nothing on earth could harm him that much except kryptonite that is. The gun will explode once superman is hit and the shrapnels of the gun will scatter like hell hurting others around him. Unlike those bullets, they'll just be crushed and fall to the ground once he is hit, it wont scatter like shrapnels. Well thats just me and my analysis.Well perhaps on the much uncanny side of the story, superman ducks becoz he can stop only bullets & other small hard stuffs in his chest but he cant stop guns and big things with his chest alone the result will be disastrous not for him but to those around him. Big Deal! So Supes usually ducks or gets the thrown gun with his super speedy movement or he can melt the gun or freeze it or throw it back just before it reaches him. You can't question the power of Superman yah know! take that to Jerry Seigel & Joe Schuster.

Maybe after taking all those hits from the bullets he just wants to duck the gun being thrown at him for the fun of it.

he didnt duck,maybe because hes so super- polite,he bent down to pick up the shells to put them in the bin when the gun was thrown at him.
