I've been off the pill for more then a year. We haven't seen a doctor about this because I'm not sure if I can hear bad news. My mom had to go through a lot just to have me, and I have an aunt that couldn't have children. Could this run in the family?. My husband's family has never had any problems.

It could be that your body is still adjusting to being off the pill. It could also be a medical problem. Relax and keep trying. If you still can't get pregnant, see a doctor.

It could run in the family. I don't know much about that but it's certainly possible. Even if it's bad news most doctors can offer fertility options. For some women it just takes a while to get pregnant also. If you don't get it just right then it doesn't happen. My first child was unexpected and I got pregnant easily and same with my second (also this one was planned) and I was told I'd have a hard time due to PCOS. A friend of mine had her first easily but it took 2 years to get pregnant with her second. So it could just be that you're not getting pregnant just because or it could be something. Try not to worry about it too much..talk to the doctor. At least you'll know either way and can work on getting pregnant from there. Best of luck to you! Hope all goes well!

My best advice to you & your husband is visit a Professional Gynaecoligist, He will test your husbands sperm, so as to rule out any problems there. Once Hubby is in the clear you will also be tested, cause problems conceiving could range from many things, like blocked fallopian tubes, ovarian cysts ect. Because you've been trying for a year, Both you & hubby must go see the Gynae, if he does detect problems, in most cases they can be solved. SO don't give up - be positive. I know from 15 years of trying to fall pregnant its hard BUT i'll always hope that some day my dream of being a mother will come true, SO while you young sort it out. GOOD LUCK HEY!

You really need to go see your doc. It might not be anything. YOu will hear tons of people say jsut relax it will happen.(that's not necessarily true). It took 2 years for us to get pg withour first & almost 2 yrs(of not trying but not preventing) to get the second. I have come to the conclusiont hat my kids are just gonna be about 2 yrs apart.(had a m/c last yr & got pg 2 yrs after my 2nd wth that one) It never hurts to call your doc just to be sure, that way you won't be so uneasy aboutit. THe stress of worrying that you may have some problem could also be causing stress & stress can prevent you from concieving sometimes too.

It could for sure run through your family. My sister has been trying to get pregnant for years now and she's facing the fact that she will adopt. I know you don't want to hear any bad news but think of it this way, a specialist can give you hope. Check out your options. Best of luck.

You aren't saying why the women and your family had difficulty conceiving, but yes it could be hereditary. The only way to find out for sure is to see a doctor. But really, there could be any number of a hundred reasons you are not conceiving. Put your mind at ease, relax and make an appointment.

You can have a simple blood test to see if you are ovulating. You go on the 21st day of your cycle. You can also have a HSG to check for blockages. You may have to take fertility pills. Have hubby's sperm tested just to be sure. Start charting your cycle. Use www.mymonthlycycles.com It can tell you when you are ovulating and the most oppurtune time to get pregnant

Just one thing to consider: When you got off the pill it probably took a couple or few months for your body to get back to its old self. (Maybe what I'm saying isn't right, but it just seems to me common sense that it could take a while to your cycle, hormones, etc. really back to normal.)

Anyway, my point is maybe you shouldn't have started measuring how long it has so far taken by the month you stopped but the pill, but instead maybe you should have started measuring from a couple of months later than that.

less than a year is not long enough to know. You need to relax and forget about it, and there is a good chance you will get pregnant. Please don't be discouraged as there is nothing to be alarmed about, yet. Hang in there and God bless you!
