Im really concerned because I've been on the DEPO shot for six months now, The first month I had a normal period, and the second and third I didn't have one. The second shot (fourth month) I didn't have one at all. I've been bleeding now for almost two months strait now. Im concerned because I dont think thats normal at all and Im afraid that all the blood lose can be harmfull too. How can I get the bleeding to stop within 20 days and is this going to harm me? Any answers will be extremely helpfull. Thank you.

I have a four month old baby boy and i got the depo shot right after my 6 week check up i have been bleeding eversince i got scared and diddnt think it was normal i talked to my friend family and doctor they all said it was normal to bleed alot on the shot and for long period of time my sister in law bled for 5 months straight and she is fine i know it sucks to bleed that much and that often but there is nothing you can do to stop it and it is normal hang in there

You should call your doctors office and see what they have to say. I know that all womens bodies are different and some bleed while on the shot and others not at all. I think the best advice would be from your medical provider.

i went thru almost same situation but i was bleeding for 6 mo straight. i had to be taken off because my body was rejecting it and not giving me full birth control affects. my doctor did tell me that when on the depo shot you will either bleed constantly or not at all so if you are doing both then i would check w/ gyno to see if you need to be seen or switch to different contraceptive. good luck

You might want to call the Dr. I was on the shot for 2 cycles. It stopped my period all together. I had to take fertility drugs to restart ovulation because the shot had stopped it all togehter. Make sure that you are taking an iron supplement with all that bleeding

Call your doc & ask them. I have never been on the shot but I think I have heard people say before that they caused your periods to be all weird like that.
