Did Lifehouse receive a certified Platinum for their third album?

Lifehouse was certified gold almost a year ago with their third self-titled album. I don't remember where I heard this, but I heard that Lifehouse is close to achieving platinum status. Is this true?

Lifehouse is the band that scored Platinum status in 2001 with "Hanging By A Moment," they released a second album which was not well received...and finally released a third album with the hit song "You and Me."

I haven't heard anything about this. I didn't even know that they reached gold, just that they were nearing it, but I heard that a while ago. It's possible, though.
