I have used almost everything in the stores and found only one thing that really works: The Clear Skin Regimen from acne.org. I am not trying to sell anything and I'm speaking from my own true experience. I used to have moderate acne but after I started the regimen it all pretty much went away. Unlike the Clearasil, L'oreal, Neutrogena and all the other products I've used, it doesn't seem to lose effectiveness over time. I was at first skeptical about the regimen since the Internet is usually full of scams. But I can ASSURE you that this one really works if you stick to it and follow the procedure step by step. And it is supposed to work on people of all ages too. While you might get irritation at first, if you are doing it right and keep on following the regimen, you will find that it works amazingly (plus it's so much better and cheaper than pro-active). Stress and diet also affect your skin but not significantly enough compared to the benzoyl peroxide treatment. But you need to remember that with whatever product you use you have to make sure that you don't overly irritate your skin. No popping the zits!!!!!

ok cut down on oily foods that may cause the problem of your face being oily. to get rid of pimples there are several ways.

when ever you take a shower make sure you scrub with soap, not too hard and not to soft, and after your done showering put some mouth wash on your face it seems to clean it very well.

another way is to open your pores so go tanning or do some exercises or anything that may cause you to sweat this will clean your pores out real good.

get a needle, poke a hole in your pimple and put alcohol on it. this is the most painful but works faster.

You need may need to start off by fixing some of your habits. Do you touch your face often/hold your head up in your palm? When you condition your hair, does the conditioner run onto your face, even just a tad? Do you wash your face 3 times a day? Are you not drinking as much water as you should be [8 cups a day]? Are you exposed to oily foods often? Is your face freqently exposed to heat long after you've last washed your face?
You may need to fix some of your daily habits, first. Wash your face often [ONLY w/ anti-bacterial soap and aviod anything w/ moisturizers! If they have oil-free that's anti-bacterial, thats even better], drink lots of water, don't EVER touch your face, watch to make sure your conditioner/shampoo doens't run onto your face, and you may need to get out of the heat so that your pores don't open and let in a buncha junk.
Furthermore, if your popping your pimples alot, stop! Popping your pimples will let the oil come out, and then spread to the areas surrounding the pimples. It's hard to get everything, so when you pop a pimple and it keeps spewing out oil, then the skin that was aaaall around that one pimple is prone to break out, too. That's putting more oil on your face, afterall. So be careful!
Also, take your vitamens. Omega-3 fatty acids are great for your hair, skin, and nails....It helps rehydrate, an its healthy for any skin type, oily or not.
And...Stop wearing make up! But, if you must: use an oil-free, water-based, non-comedogenic makeup product.
Furthermore, stay out of moist air. I found that when I'm in the house, dry air that isn't humid, and is usually cold, helps. Unfortunatly, it's so dry in our house that I get nose bleeds...But, its good for my skin. Heh.
Oh, and: Make sure to wash your bedsheets, especially if your face touches the pillow/conforter when you sleep. Your face is on them, and the oil and dirt on your face goes onto your pillows. Same goes for your comforter. Just try and wash your face and hair before bed so you can try and keep things alil cleaner there.
Sidnote: Chocolate and caffine do not cause pimples. So drink of that mocha :p

Now, every person is alittle different. I use both Clearasil ULTRA acne treatement cream and the Clean and Clear Persa-10 gel. I swtich them, b/c for one reason or another, my skin likes that better [although there's the same amount of benz. peroxide, so I don't know]. At night, I cake one [or both!] of those meds on my face...It works as a physical barrier, and it really drys me out. However, the Clearasil is on the expensive side.
If you have alot of whiteheads or black heads, look to get t hose cleaned up. They enlarge pores, and larger pores may mean more breakout. Buy some cotton balls, and some astringents and toners. Get something w/ salicylic acid, use it once every day or two, but always use a clarifying toner. Personally, I like witch hazel to start off w/, cause it has some moisturizing elements in it, as well as stuff that cleans your face. Then I got ahead and use a toner, and sometimes an astringent w/ salicylic acid if I have some bad pimples.
My pimples arn't usually small and filled w/ puss, they're usually big, red, and full of clear oil. I have this bad habit of trying to pop them [they hurt!], so sometimes I accidently open 'em up a bit....So if that happens, and the pimple still isn't gone, I'll dump some salicylic acid astringent on a cotton ball and press it into the pimple, which strings a bit, but it shrinks the pimple down to almost nothing. Unfortunatly, it leaves a scar, or the pimple may come back alil bit. So I wouldn't recommend it. But really use that salicylic acid if you keep getting acne. Just don't use it more than once a day or two, b/c you might just irritate your face even more, and cause more breakouts.

Also, if you have serious acne, don't get Proactiv. My roomate back at college has bad acne, and she tried it and said it didn't do anything...She said it was basically witch hazel, a cleaner, and that was it.

Bear in mind, that if your a teen, your hormones are partially to blame.
But I remember my mother complaining about how she and her friends would still get acne at age 30, so. There's really no cure, all you can do is prevent!

You don't say how old you are and your gender. It does make a difference to the answer. Usually, though, pimples are caused by testosterone. Even in girls. Women do have testosterone just like men have estrogen. If you are a teenager or early 20's, you probably have too much testosterone. It'll settle with age.

Environment also causes pimples. Smoke and such. Sometimes food causes them. Try taking notes of everything you eat and then watch for breakouts. What did you eat 1-2 days before? Try removing those foods. If you clear up, it's an allergic reaction to one of the foods.

First, try clean and clean style or Neutrogena. purchase a purifier, toner, and moisturizer. clean, tone, moisturize, morning and evening. Get benzoyl cream alongside with Neutrogenas 'On-the-spot' pimples treatment, for at the same time as pimples pop up. If this does no longer artwork, bypass to a dermatologist. you've some intense pimples.

If I knew, I'd be happy. But, it's more then likely a genetic thing that will never go away. Of your mum or dad has oily skin, and you have it, then it's something you have to live with.
Most products don't work. I know from experience. But the best thing I've found out is that testing out different things to see what works best for you is the useful idea to keep in mind when shopping.
And, if still in doubt, consult a dermatologist. Let them see what they can do.

Wash your face 3 times a day. When it feels oily pat it with a tissue. Use oil free facial products including moisturizers. If the problem persist see your doctor there are meds that can help.

I love ProActiv! It works really well for me, but if you use it make sure you use plenty of moisturizer. ProActiv works by drying out the oil in your skin, so you get less pimples, but you need to put the moisture you lose back into your skin.. Whatever you do, don't pop them. It irritates the pimples and causes scars and often makes the pimple worse. If you're really self-conscious and worried about your skin go to a dermatologist.

don't use any of that crap. But I heard ProActive does work. Anyways, boil some water, pour it in a bowl and hold your face over the bowl and put a towel over your head. Make sure none of the steam gets out- it should be a big towel for the shower or w/e. Hold your head there for as long as you can and then take the towel off to breathe. Do this for about ten minutes, and then rub some equaline skin cleanser on your face, follow the intsrtuctions. My skin is always close to perfection with that.
