the reason women get so hungry is because of a hormone called progesterone. right before we start our periods, we have a surge in the amount of progesterone in our bodies. this surge of progesterone makes us hungry - the more progesterone a woman has in their body, the hungrier they are. you cant do anything to control the amount of progesterone you release before yoru period, but you can try doing things like eating foods higher in fiber (which make you feel more full), drinking alot of water, or just practicing self control when you feel these food cravings. allow yourself one day to eat whatever you want and then get back on your regular eating routine.

I dread that time, but we get hungry because our hormones are on a rage and that really throws things off balance.

It take discipline to not do that. It takes a lot. I usually chew a lot of gum if I start to feel unnecessarily hungry. Eating protein helps a lot . :0)

Cause your bodys replacing the nutrients that are going to be lost during your period, you WANT to eat enough to fix that
