I am looking to ship a package oversseas to a soldier fighting in Afghanistan. He would like lots of choclate! Is the heat out there harsh enough for it to melt in transit? If so, what can I pack it with to keep it cold enough to stop it from melting, because obviously... regular ice would not work! Any suggestions?

Maybe dry ice would do the trick.

Use an insulated bag. Kind of like you use to keep a six pack of soda cold, but you can find some of that material at stores. If really concerned, you can wrap the insulated chocolate in more insulation!

wrap your sweets in aluminum foil and then put them in a plastic bag and tie it up.
iv shipped over seas many times. even food. it shouldnt melt since it stays out of the son and they wouldnt put any pachages in the hot heat becus some items people ship could be flammable.
so dont worry about it. just wrap it up good like i said and it should be okay.

Pack just the chocolate (no wrapper or paper or foil) in a plastic container, even if it does melt, you can chill the container and still eat the chocolate.
