Anything refurbished means the item was returned to the manufacturer for any reason and was repaired by the company. Normal reasons for Ipods would be the HD died, bezels cracked, battery died or LCD has pixels. They normally have a 90 day limited warranty that covers the hardware. There may be an option for extended warranty. Choose wisely and good luck to you.

refurbished means that its been used. so that person sent the device back and that company fixed the problem as well as they could and resold it.
a refurbished device is not always put back together to perfection. later down the road it may cause you problems becus it was used befor. they wont tell you what the problem was.
so my idea, dont buy anything refurbished that is an electronic.
pay the extra money to get a new one and it will be worth your while.

It basically means that the unit has been used, but fixed up to perfect working condition. Although the unit usually does not look new, it should work just fine.
