Why do they have to report you because your opinon differs with theirs? I am not racist, but I think it is complete bull that if someone makes a racist comment they get reported. Haven't you people ever heard of freedom of speech? Now I understand if some guy is trying to hook up with some 14 year old girl or something, but you shouldn't get reported for saying something sexual, sexist, racist or anything else. SO PLEASE, TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO REPORT PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY DISAGREE WITH YOU, OR YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT THEY SAID, PLEASE DROP DEAD AND LEAVE US ALONE. THANK YOU.

Because Yahoo has standards and expectations for you using this website, and they have a system in place to make this site friendly to all users. If you don't like the terms of service, THAN DON'T USE THE SERVICE! Yahoo relies on people reporting those who violate the rules or else to keep this site functioning as they intended it, and if no one reported anyone, it would be full of so much sick, offense, and annoying crap that no normal person would want to use Yahoo Answers.
Also, I think that's fairly hyprocritical of you to say everyone deserves freedom of speech, unless they are a pedophile. Why do you deserve freedom of speech in order to violate the rules, and they don't??? You can't have it both ways.
**I don't report people who have a different opinion than me, and I don't report people for every little rule they break. But when someone says something really offensive, disgusting, or ignorant, yes I will report them. I have been on Answers for 6 months, I'm level 5, and have NEVER had anyone report me. I really don't see any problem with this system of reporting.

Sometimes I think people do go a bit to far and should be reported if they are being down right mean or are extremely vulgar.We all have to remember that this is a website children can access.With that said, I do think that the "reporting police" do go a bit to far at times.Some people just can't stand different views.

i hate it when ppl delet my questions that aren't offending any one. and it p*** me off really bad. come on i didn't say anything wrong... when i had one of my questions reported it didn't state why. which is stupid as hell. i think people are just bored and report random questions

I report people when they're rude. if they bluntly state "I don't like jewish people", I probably wouldn't have a problem with it. but when they aggressively insult people, It's a form of harrassment.
