Not clear on what you're asking or if your are simply seeking a reaction. The information is vague and incomplete if this is an example of a police report.

Is the friend also a black male and approximately the same age? What was robbed and was it in the possession of the 2 suspects. Can the female ID either of the people. Where and at what time did SAPD pick up the suspects?

If this is to illustrate that racial profiling is a tool of limited use you're preaching to the choir. MY undergraduate degree is in criminology and we examined actual police arrest and field reports where profiling was so poor it provided errors similar to your example.

Although I am a strong supporter of racial profiling, or better said, "People Profiling", I am always aware that any tool must be used intelligently. How can "SAPD" (whoever that is) prove one thing or another, I can only guess since PD stands for "Police Department" that they have their rules and regulations and procedures that must meet State and Federal guidelines, and they'll do the best they can do. The fact that his accuser is a woman sets him back a few steps, so it's not just "racial profiling" you need to worry about. It's "sexist profiling" you need to consider as well, and that's not just some stupid thought from a man. Profiling happens from a multitude of angles. God Bless you.
