OK, here is my story. I was on Seasonale (3-month cycle) for the 18 months. I stopped taking BC in June and want to get PG BAD. I ovulated the month I stopped BC & last month. These PG test claim they can detect the hormone 5-7 days after conception. Being on vacation, I wanted to be sure to know asap so I did not drink or take any risks. I was convinced I was PG. I took PG tests prior to missing a period and all were NEG. On the last day of my vaca, 8/7, 3 days before I was suppose to start my period, I had intercourse and bleed slightly. It was weird-a bright red color, like normal blood and not menstrual looking. I took a HPT that can detect "5" days before - it was NEG. The spotting was random, light and lasted about 1.5 - 2 days total. Not sure if the spotting was my period or not, so I bought one more HPT today and it's also NEG. But I am tired, have food aversions, constipation, and bloating-I just have this weird vibe within my body. I am not sure what to do next!! Any ideas?

Thanks to everyone who replied! This is my first Q & A attempt on yahoo and I was overwhelmed by the quick replies and support.
And for those judgemential folks - yes, I am married, to the love of my life, and 27 years old. Not that it's anyones business! I have been waiting for the right time to get prego and this is it for me. I've always wanted kids and now my mother is terminally ill. I want to be able to give her the grandchild she has been bugging me for - and more importantly - allow my child to know her as long as possible. As it is, I can only hope that she has at least 9 months left.... Anyway, that along with more details, were in my original Q but I had to make many cuts to reach the 1000 character limit... THANKS AGAIN....! :-)

OK first off. Ovulation generally occurs on day 14 of the cycle. Sperm can last in a woman body for 1 to 3 days and ovulation usually lasts 12 to 48 hours. If you had unprotected sex during that time then there is a good possibility that you are pregnant. As far as the pregnancy tests go. The best thing to do is to see your doctor. They can do a blood test that can read hCG levels as soon as implantation of the egg occurs (which is usually 6 to 10 days after fertilization). Spotting does occur in some women during implantation. As far as the "symptoms" of pregnancy. You will not begin having morning sickness, breast tenderness, or fatigue until about the end of the first month. Most important try not to stress over it. Stress can cause your period to be late which will lead to even more stress and if you are pregnant the stress can do harm to the baby growing inside of you. Try to relax and call and make an appointment with your doctor.

I totally know exactly how you feel, i myself have been battling to fall pregnant & have had some of the same symptoms as you have, except mine are a little more severe. SO the very best advise I can give you is, visit your Gynaecoligist ASAP, he/she will be able to solve your problem. Home Pregnacy Test are NOT always 100% accurate, So i advise you to see your Gynae to have a Blood Test and a Scan, they are 100% accurate, & if you are not pregnant then the Scan will pick up any problem you might have for eg: Ovarian Cysts which can cause irregular periods, Spotting, bloatness, stomach pains ect - Not to worry it is treatable GOOD LUCK!

Wait one more week if it still comes up negative i would assume you are not pregnent. The test works one the amount of hormones that your body produces during pregnency. Your body only makes a certain hormone when you are pregnent and depending on your body it may take alittle longer for you to produce enough for the test detect it.

Unfortunately all you can do is wait. Maybe the test is wrong, I have had a wrong test, but then I have had very convincing false symptoms as well. I hope it works out for you, it is a hard place to be in, waiting for pregnancy.

Its because you went off BC and back on your hormones are out of whack, its highly unlikely you are pregnant, I hope for your case that you are with the love of your life and married before wanting to get pregnant BADLY

Call your dr... You may have miscarried right away and are still full of hormones, or you're pregnant, or your cycle is different b/c you aren't taking artificial hormones anymore... Could be anything.
