My BF is thinking about getting his ears pierced. I told him to get both done - it looks better. He's undecided. What do you think?

Whether your guy has one ear pierced or both, it should something he's comfortable with. He could have one ear pierced now, and the other one later. If both ears are pierced, he could wear a ring in his left ear today and then in his right ear tomorrow.
Personally, I'm not fond of symmetrical ear piercings or earrings on guys. For example, if a guy's wearing a ring in each ear, it looks much more attractive to me if one is at the base of his ear and the other at the middle of his ear. Vary the type, too. Maybe one stud, the other a ring, or another stud design. It should be complementary, but different.

Once upon a time, a man with a piercing was making a statement. Have you ever heard, "Left is right and right is wrong'? It meant that wearing the ear ring in the left ear told the world you were straight, and if you wore it in your right ear, you were gay. Does this mean that if you have both ears pierced, you are bi? It was a big thing in the 60's and 70's and it my have lost some of the meaning over time. I suggest that he speak with a few people at the body piercing places and get the current fashion statement on men and ear piercings.

I would have to say both for that type of earring. But if you want to get one pierced: If you get the right pierced, it means you are gay. If you get the left side pierced, it means you are straight, just a little heads up :)

It all depends on a way the guy looks and dresses.
Here are some good ways to look at it.
Prep- Should only get one, something small that wont cause alot of distraction and wont look ridiculous.
Baggy-Two looks great, takes attention off too much clothes and gives your face compliments, Diamonds that is.
Professional-Well the name kind of says it all but its the way a person likes it.
Punk-Two looks better kind of sexier as well.
Keep in mind this is also what you like you dont want him to impress any other female but yourself.

I think some guys look good with both done. Not all. I think it's more common now for guys to get both done.
