My ten month sons crib was stolen before I could get it out the box. He slept with me until he was six months old and I moved him to his playpen to move him to the crib gradually. What should I do? How long does a child stay in a crib.

You could buy one of the cribs that converts into a toddler bed, that way he could sleep in the crib until he's ready for you to convert it into a toddler bed. You can find them at Wal-Mart. That sucks that someone would sink as low to steal a crib.

Get a toddler bed and buy a bed guard for kids so they dont roll out of bed and have the bed against a wall for the other side. Walmart has them or any baby store and they are great. I still use mine for our 4 yr old. Our son was in his own bed at 13 months so 3 more months for your child, I think you will be fine using a toddler bed. We move our children out of the cribs when they start to crawl out of them or stand or jump in them. If your child is walking you are ready but I think a toddler bed is fine. Sorry about your crib! That is terrible someone had to steal it. Good Luck!

he will be ready for a toddler bed in about a year--maybe a little before-my so slept with me until he was 2 (bad idea by the way)---so i would invest in another crib or you can even just stick with the playpen.
