Is George Lucas going to remake the Star Wars movies???

He already did. When he was making the first 3 movies, he touched up the originals (Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi) and re-released them in VHS and DVD. I understand they are working on a complete boxed-set with the 3 new movies and the 3 digitally enhanced original movies along with some special DVD's.

Yes. He thinks they all sucked and wants to do a $400 Million dollar remake of ALL 6 movies - FILMED SIMULTANEOUSLY - to FINALLY get it right.
Rumor has it he is going to change a few characters. Jar Jar Vader, Boba Hutt and Storm Gropers (octopus like troopers) are going to figure prominently.
In order to incorporate some product placement C3PO will become HDtv and R2D2 will be replace by a vid screen droid called MTV.

He Doesn't even know he said probably not and he probably won't let other Film makers touch the films but he is coming out with cartoons like Clone wars but about after the movies 4,5,6

He already 'remastered' them . He won't totally remake them. I just hope he releases some rights so other film makers can make movies from the great and plentiful fiction written about events after Return of the Jedi.

no he said that he wouldnt make anymore and someone else could cuz hes starting to do other stuff instead.And hes not remaking them like that other person said, in like episode 6 they show hayden christiansen in the back, standing as lukes father b4 the dark side, its kind of cool.(in the new DVD set they have for it.)

he said he will do no more with star wars and thank god the episodes 1-3 almost ruined the whole thing for me

I hope that he makes 7, 8 and 9...that would be cool...but I am not holding my breath...since it took an eternity to make the last movies...
