one of them i know is a female because we saw her giving birth so i tried to compair her to the others. i cant really tell the difference between.

Look at the anal fin. The female will have a round one, and a male will have a longer narrow one. Note that platy can store up fertilized eggs for a few months. So often you'll buy a female and it will give birth for several months without any males around.

As with most animals except humans, the males are more brightly colored.
