Even though I used to live in Western New York State, we used to have this really cool Country/Western bar called How-dee's that had line dancing, couple's country dancing, and even gave free lessons on certain nights if you got there early enough. We had a whole group who went, and we would have a blast! This was probably back 10 or more years. I don't even think it exists anymore, and I don't remember why I stopped going. It was a really fun way to get a good cardio workout in though! And even though I wasn't from Texas, I still felt like a cowgirl when I would put my cowboy boots on!

There are definitely still clubs and bars. In Michigan it is actually starting to become popular. There is a country club in Otsego, MI called Le Bresa Del Rio. My friend and I used to drive an hour there and back every weekend just to go line dancing when we turned 18. It is such a blast. I actually do own horses and I am pretty cowgirl-ed up. However, there were just as many "city" people as country ones. They recently started country nights in the bars much closer to my home now, so I don't have to drive an hour anymore just for the fun of dancing. But I definitely agree, it is such a great cardio workout! I know people always look at line dancing as old fashioned or boring or only for old people. I think that is so close-minded, kind of like "don't knock it until you try it." There are always new dances to be learned, or ways to switch up the ones you do know. Plus, I feel a lot more respected when I'm two-stepping with a guy than when he comes up behind me and starts grinding all up on me. Anyway, I bet if you jumped on a search engine online you might be able to find a new place to start dancing close to your area! Otherwise just blast that stereo and do it in your living room!

There is a place here in Pennsylvania called Montana West which offers country line dancing 3-4 nights a week. It is a pretty fun place.
