Good grief, people! Stop with the judging already! This was a hypothetical question meant to start a lively discussion! My husband is alive and well! (And just for the record, I'd wait a helluva lot longer than he would if I were the dead one!)

I'd won't have to wait................... I haven't slep with her in 2 years anyway.
Now if my girlfriend died................... I would be in trouble.

If you are ready to date again then sex would only be a logical next step.
Some people would feel guilty....feel like they are defiling what they had with there former partner. Others would not as long as they are over the trauma of loss.
Remember this.....your husband has passed on. He is no longer here but you are. You must continue to live your life and you do not need to feel guilty about wanting love again.
When we are young we sometimes have this idea there is only one person out there for us. That when you find them then that's it for life.
This is not the case. We are capable of loving many. We need love and should never let our guilt or anyone else stop us from finding it as long as we are here.
You go for it girl. If you like or love this guy enough to lie down with him do not worry about the past. You are here and must take care of you.

I would wait until my GRIEVING was over so that I would not USE someone out of loneliness or sorrow, and hurt that innocent person. Some people grieve for a short time, me, it takes about 8 years. If you feel guilty, then you are not done grieving.

Every person is different. However the sooner you have sex the worse it looks for you. It looks like you were a gold-digging whore. Honestly you should wait until the grieving process or over for everyone.

I cannot imagine my world without my wife. If I had to deal with her death I do not think sex would enter my mind for quite a while.
I don't know if anyone could come close either. It might be a year or more.

It would just depend on how long you knew the other person but I dont think I would feel guilty

I love my husband! I honestly don't think I would ever have sex with someone else without feeling guilty no matter how long he was dead.
