Do u have linux installed in your hdd? If so then you should install the linux boot loader (grub/lilo) in mbr and keep linux in default boot option.
If u r trying to install linux , or trying to use a live version like knoppix then change the boot sequence in cmos setup and make cdrom drive the first boot device. O.K. Dude ???????

the frame of mind you're utilizing to fix this computing gadget is type of like sitting contained in the cockpit of a jet airplane and flipping each swap to "discover the only which makes it fly." And now you're asking "which swap do I hit to fix each thing?" God in straightforward words is prevalent with! What difficulty are you fixing? Blinking cursors? Is that undesirable? You were instructed (with the help of whom?) to apply fixboot bootcfg, chkdsk (you imagine a ingredient said as "boot configuration" would in some way be on the region of a boot difficulty?) And "different issues" for 5 hours? A linux disk to fix a abode windows device? then you definately reset the cmos with battery and jumper? That wipes out the cmos configuration, then you definately want to reconfigure it. i'm sorry i do not have a "fix" except take the computing gadget to someone who's prevalent with a thanks to fix pcs. reliable success.
