Agree - aloe is great. The best is if you have/get an aloe plant, break open the leaves, and apply fresh gel to your face. It doesn't take a very big piece. Do this a couple of times a day. You might want to use some vitamin E caps too - break them open and put the vitamin gel on your face too. Both promote healing and help prevent scars.
For the pain, use a pain killer like tylenol and very cold wash cloths. Be sure not to rub too hard and aggrevate it more with the cloth or anything else.
If it blisters, see a doctor.

The very best thing you could do is to go buy a real aloe vera plant (they are very hardy, can live just about anywhere, look cool, and can be found in nearly any plant nursery and many grocery stores). Then, you cut one "leaf" from the plant about 1/2 inch from the base. Cut this in half length-wise, and scrape the gel-like inside from the flesh with a butter-knife, then apply this lightly to the burned areas with your fingertips. It will actually dry, forming a protective layer over the burn which helps to hold in moisture and it is also soothing. It speeds healing and retards formation of any scar-tissue. Leave it on over-night, then gently rinse it off with cool water and re-apply. I usually do this 1-2 times per day, and definitely overnight and it is usually better in 1-3 days.

You can put the aloe in the refridgerator to help with the heat in your skin. You can also use desitin to sooth the soreness and moisturize the areas that are red and peeling. It has zinc in it which is very good for your skin. I swam competitively, played water sports and had this problem a few times. It is used for diaper rash, but because it can be used on babies, it doesnt burn your sensitive sun burned skin. That and cold towels, and a fan on you at all times, sleeping in sheets...are the best medicine for sun burns. Feel better soon!

the first thing you should always do after a day from too much sun is apply after sun aloe Vera lotion or gel. it smooths your skin and moisture's it. and after applying it, your skin won't peel. you can try to apply aloe Vera gel, it will smooth your skin and make your face look like it isn't peeling. although avoid alto of contact between your face and your hands, that will cause pimples.

Apply Aloe Vera. Do not apply vaseline or anyother lotions that contain a humectant. What this does is seal in the heat. You want to let your skin breath. Mary Kay has a lotion "Night Solution", which works wonders on sunburns. I used it on my shoulders and it kept my skin from peeling.
