I think its only a problem for people who are anorexic WHILE they are trying to conceive or while they are pregnant.
If she is worried, go to a doctor.

I myself have a four month old boy, who is perfectly healthy. A lot of women, like myself, who have had eating disorders (or still do) worry about this issue- as they should.
If you are currently suffering from a disorder and you do not have a regular period you may not be able to get pregnant or have a high risk of preclamsia-type problems during your pregnancy due to deficencies of vital minerals & vitamins.
If she was anorexic for a long period of time then she may have problems and "techical difficulties" when it comes to conception.
My biggest worry, and what should be hers, is eating EXTRA healthy for the baby -while- pregnant. As I strarted to gain weight I FREAKED out and it was hard to keep myself on the right track.
After gaining some weight I started to eat more than I normally would. Like in my head I thought that this was an "excuse" for being fat- and I ate like a horse.
Sorry about the rambling but- the main thing I am trying to say is that she just needs to take EXTRA care of herself because it is easy to slide back into unhealthy lifestyle.
Tell your friend I said "Good Luck & Sticky Bean Vibes!!"
((and I had three micarrages and was told I could never have a baby- I am only twenty one and I have one...it was a liitle hard of a road- but it is totally possible))

If she were still anorexic, it could definitely affect things due to low body fat causing lack of ovulation and cessation of periods. However, if she is Ok now and her periods have resumed and she has a healthy amount of body fat, now, she should be fine! Usually those articles are for people who still have eating disorders or are recently recovered.

I had an eating disorder for 10 years. I have been in recovery for seven years. I know have a wonderful 19 month old daughter. It took quite a few years for my body to recover and for my menstrual cycle to get back to normal(sometimes your period will stop when you have an eating disorder) Once I got to a healthy weight and maintained it for a few years I became pregnant . so as long as she stays healthy I am sure she will be fine.

nicely you unquestionably need to show her on her illness. in all probability get an anorexia survivor to tell her how significant that's. At this element it is not basically her life, however the toddler's. you're able to make excuses and say that telling her to consume is going too some distance. yet frankly that's in hassle-free terms a cop out. it somewhat is already loopy sufficient which you enabled her habit. think of, she ought to die in childbirth or the toddler ought to die.
