...around the Manchester area?..preferably cheap! My brothers marrying a girl from a deaf family...and I'm the best man! Out of respect it's only right to try to do my speach signing at the same time. Justine has already taught me most of the swear words which is great. You can F**k some one off and smile at the same time!!!!

you can do courses online and buy software to teach you, you don't necessarily have to attend a course. If you google BSL that should point you in the right direction

Or you could look on the RAD website: http://www.royaldeaf.org.uk/page.php?id=100193

Hope that helps, and i think thats a really nice and thoughtfull thing to do. Your brother and his fiance will have a wonderful surprise. Hope it all goes well.

Contact your local council or LEA and ask. Or you could get books and learn from them. I just bought a few books and I'm going to try and learn from them. You may not learn all the right words from a course, but at least it will establish the correct mannerisms, facial expressions, etiquette etc.

That's a very thoughtful act. It's so nice to come across a genuinely nice person. You have restored my faith in humanity!

Shouldn't be too hard, try googling deaf society, my daughter is learning it at school, she's not deaf. Don't the family you know know of somewhere or is it a suprise?

I think you can find great courses at Red Cross of your country.
I've taken a basic one, in Argentina, at Cruz Roja argentina.

that is really considerate of you. your brother and his future inlaws will be so impressed. i'm not sure on courses in england but here in ireland its mainly senior colleges who provide those courses. i'm starting one in september myself as want to study speech and language therapy in the future. good luck with that and enjoy the wedding.
