We don't know, indeed cannot know for sure, but we cannot see an edge or end to it .Therefore we can assume it is infinite. To be finite, it would have to have boundaries. The universe is so large that we have no instuments powerful enough to "see" far enough to detect any boundaries.

By your own corollary space is infinite. If we can only travel to the highest number, what is the highest number? Infinity.
