Do you think that those who have no interest in having children feel that way because they have inferior genes?

We are the only species that chose not to have children. What gave us this ability to decide whether or not we procreate?

What makes humans so different?

We are the only species who have sex for pleasure.
(How do WE know that dolphins do the same?)

We are the only species which destroy ourselves (things like waging war, fighting, and killing others for no reason).

We are the only species in which the female develops breasts upon puberty and they remain there for entire life regardless of being a virgin or not, being pregnant or not, nursing a child or not.

As for the details of your question, no, people who have no interest in having children DO NOT feel that way because they have inferior genes. They feel that way becuase it is a MAJOR responsibility and a life-altering event for both parents to have a child. If you have a child, you have to provide support, emotionally, socially, and financially at LEAST for the next eighteen years. Some people just don't feel up to it. They think they are not ready or some people just don't want to have themselves bounded...ever.

What, would you rather have people like this have kids and then give them up or something? Would you rather have them leave the kids to wander on the streets or not take care of them?

What gives the ability to do so? Our intellect gives us the ability to do so. We have developed technology, knowledge, and the medical science, to produce these preventive measures. We can have sex, but we don't have to be pregnant. If you do get pregnant, you can still have an abortion.

first off i feel that your statement is not true about humans being the only ones able to decide. (pandas?) I don't think the people not interested in having children have inferior genes. Maybe they feel that it is not necessary for them to have children. Maybe they have a disability. Maybe they have not enough money to support a child to what they believe to be nurturing. Their are a lot of different reasons why humans may or may not wish to concieve a child.

When I look around and see starving and homeless children the world over, I realize that I do not need to bring another one here; if it is that important to me, I should do the right thing and adopt one that needs a home.

What makes humans so different is that we are the only creature on the planet that does not give back in equal amounts as we take from the environment.

What makes us different is in the fact that we (some of us) question our own behavior at all.
