Anything in the medical field. If you don't want to go through all the schooling to become a doctor, there are several other options. Check out some of these allied health fields:
- Speech Pathology - you will need a master's but you help clients who have problems communicating. You can work in the schools, hospitals, retirement homes, private practice, etc.
- Medical Imaging - there are some bachelor programs in this, while other schools have 1-2 year programs. You can be certified in radiology, nuclear medicine, MRIs, sonography, etc.
- Physical Therapy - there is a 2 yr associate degree for assisting or a doctorate degree. This is in very high demand and will continue to grow.
- Nutrition Sciences - you can become a registered dietician and help prescribe diets to patients, athletes, students, etc. There are a ton of job opportunities in this field.
- Clinical Lab Science - you do the lab work for blood tests, urine analysis, dna testing, biopsies, etc.
- Nursing - there will always be a strong demand for nursing
- Teaching - this isn't in the health field, but there will always be a demand for teachers as well

I would say anything within the medical field is quite secure as there will always be a need for paramedics, nurses and doctors. If you decide to go to college for your EMT stuff then you can also branch out into a firefighter more easily as they usually require you to have at the very least first responder or EMT-Basic certification.

Medicine is foremost. doctors will always be on demand . they'll always be sick people to treat. Dentists are also in demand and secure. Anything that deal with the health industry such as nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, medical assistants, nurses aides, med secretaries , lab technologists , x-ray technicians and those major in hosp administration and business major to run the business office in hosp are also secure. another lucrative major is in computer science as everywhere you go you have to deal with high tech and computers.
there are a lot of computer companies always looking for computer majors. i know somebody with a computer engineering degree working for budweiser in their lab. Another are lab researchers.education major is also good as teachers are required and will always be on demand. from elementary up to university professors. Major in sports is another. as the modern trend nowadays. from rehabilitation , OR technicans or nurse anesthetists.
