It really depends on the kind of top lip you have. if you have a cupids bow i make and 'x' at the top to outline it with a lip liner or a lip brush. then i take a lip brush and fill in the rest of the lips. its your basic dont go out of the lines.

If you can't get it on with the lipstick then use a lip brush and apply with that.

if you have a curvy top lip like me, this is how I do it:
Apply it to your bottom lip kind of heavily, rub your lips together, and just take a little gloss/lipstick and trace your top lip curve, your stick pointing up and a little diaginol, and that's what I do:)

- Apply a lip primer and lip liner to top and bottom lips (helps keep color from bleeding and feathering). Fill in with lip liner to make lipstick last longer. Fill in top and bottom lips with lipstick using lip brush.
- If you want to change your lip line for fuller or thinner lips, apply concealer to the lip line and blend. Recreate lip line with lip liner.
- For fuller lips apply light to warm color, and apply gloss only to center of top and bottom lips. For thinner lips, apply darker colors.

use a lip brush. it will turn on more precise and you can fill in those little corners easier with this.
