i think the more important question should be why is it that in america no one seems to notice(or care) that the authorities are so corrupt? if everyone spent more time concerning themselves with the problems here at home than the problems abroad this would be such a great nation. think the middle east has a monopoly on slaughtering people to get what they want? ask the cherokee and the iroquois and the comanchee what they think. ask hiroshima and nagosaki what they think. think mexicans have a monopoly on bribes and false imprisonment? ask the people of illinois what they think about their govenor selling commercial drivers licenses to unqualified people for huge sums of money. do some research on how many people in government have charges of rape, pedophilia, dui,drug abuse,domestic abuse,murder,ect on them. but they wear really nice gucci suits so i guess the rule is if you look professional while your doing it, and can hide it from the people really well, its ok to do anything you want.

NO! The poeple of Mexico are not stupid! One word only: poberty.
Unlike in the United States were there is a high, middle, & low class, in Mexico there only exist two. Yes, there are a few who belong in the middle class but that number is few. Unfortunately those that are at the top are a bunch of no good assholes. They misuse there power by stealing from the hardworking people of the country. There is a great mistrust for the Mexican goverment, you see Mexico has had it's really hard times in the hands of these bastards, Fox( the former pres.) has not stolen from the country although there are some speculations that his wife had used funds from the goverment for herself to buy really expensive dresses, Well he may not have done much wrong, but he didn't do much good.

Corruption is always a about money - if authority figures feel underpaid, they may resort to corruption. You will find that those countries with the lowest corruption rates are the ones who pay their state workers the most, so they don't need to find "alternative sources of income".

Who said that corruption has anything to do with being stupid? May be being lazy.. but not stupid.. I mean look to Bush.. but you still can not say that America is corrupt ( ratio wise)

They are corrupt because they are the judge and jury and I know they definitely aren't going to arrest themselves. They govern the land so they can do as they please.
