Have his family and friends meet him at the airport or base. With flags and signs. Make a big deal.
Take him home, and have a big sheet hanging on the garage for a week, celebrating his return.
Have the kids go home with gramma.
Tie a bow around your waist and remind him of what he was missing.
Then have a bar-b-que or something over the weekend, and let everyone get a piece of him. He may want to be home alone a while to chill.
Prepare for him to be in shock and feel guilty. Be patient.
Thank him for me for his part to keep me an American.
Thank you for your sacrifice, too.

My fiance was in Iraq and came home in May, then went to be stationed in Japan where he been stationed for 2 years. He is coming home August 12th (tomorrow!).

I know how excited to be having your hubby come home.

My fiance might be going back for a second tour in around March/April next year. He doesn't know it but if he does, everyone will get together at the airport with the news/media welcoming our solider home.

Also a nice dinner at his favorite restaurant and going to the races (he loves drag racing or motorcycle racing) to treat him. Also, a very nice night of some love making lol.

So, go with what you know about your man and take him places he would love and be around people he loves and Miss. He has been under stress and in an environment that is very different. Give him the taste of home that he missed. Which should be very easy since being home itself is good enough.

A great idea. Go to spencers and maybe Loved One's if you have one near by or any adult store. Find anything anywhere that you know for she he is into and then maybe get some extra things that you think might be interesting to try. Get really really rested up. Then prepare him a wonderful meal and get the sexfest ready. For however long he has been away, you have possibly been the only thing to help him get through everyday out there. Show him that you really missed him and that you are overjoyed that he is home. Ravish him. He has been away all this time. Showing him that you missed him is the best way to welcome him home. Don't make it just for that day though either. Make it like a whole week extravaganza. He will be absolutely shocked and thankful to be home. You got be prepared though. You might see a side of you that you didn't know was hidden away...or not. Just have fun.

Remember, he has been under constant stress for the whole time he was there. Chances are, he would like to come home to a nice, comfortable home, spend some quiet time with you, not be bothered by a lot of nonsense, and just decompress for a while. I would say ask him what he would like, try not to put a lot of pressure on him, and most of all just be there for him and let him know you are all his. Don't be expecting any fireworks immediately - it may take him some time to get back in the swing of things.

I'd say just a nice party with friends and relatives, don't forget he's been through a lot and is going to need some time to readjust to life at home, be patient and don't expect to just pick up where you left off, thats not quite reasonable. Good luck and enjoy!

Congrats Katy- my DH came home too safely! I say have a huge BBQ picnic where EVERYONE can see him at once. Then slip off later as the rest are partying and enjoying good food and good company. THEN enjoy your hubby! It worked for us! Glad to hear a homecoming story! ><>

Meet him with open arms. Don't hold a huge gathering, it will be too overwhelming. Just keep it to the essential few. He will probably expect a lot of hot sex so get sexy lingerie aplenty and the full treatment of manicure, pedicure, etc.

Have the whole "Hood", Family and Friends greet him at the airport. A nice cookout would be nice, too.

What ever ideas you get, won't top that ol' saying

"The kitchen and the bedroom, baby"!
