You can very much be a man's man. As a matter of fact you can set an excellent example of how a man should treat his lady to others and maybe some of them may pick up your good habits. I'd suggest that it is just the opposite of your question and that pussywhipped men are in very unhappy relationships and that a man's man is capable of both sustaining and maintaining a long and lasting relationship. That is providing he is able to communicate with his wife and allow her the opportunity to be herself.

It's not easy for a man to have a good marriage when all his friends are calling him pussywhipped for wanting to respect his wife. I think married men should have married friends to help with this problem. The marriage should always come first no matter what anyone else thinks.

I say its always in having the right mindset. I mean what woman would want some guy that she can just yell at and he agrees to everything she says all the time? That would really suck ***. I'd prefer a man with a brain about himself, know that he will be loved and cared for by me and I'd expect the same in return. We'd split fianaces and other bills and even chores and taking care of kids down the middle. It takes a decent understanding of both ppl in the relationship and having the feelings there between both a mature man and a woman for any marriage to be a succes.

Being in a long term marriage has been found to be the best way to live, based on a few thousand years of human history. A good marriage just means that there is ALWAYS somebody on your side. The trick is to find "the" wife for you. I hunt, I fish, I camp. My wife enjoys tenting, and likes to fish. I even spend a week in the Canadian wilderness every spring, 50 miles from the road, but she passes on that. We like each other, which is tougher than just loving. Life is more fun this way. By the way, I'm 6'2", 190 and played football for my ship's team back in the military.

Definitly you can be a man's man and have a successful marriage. Unless you have a controlling wife, I'm sure she doesn't want a pussywhipped man, I know I don't.

a man is someone who will do what is right for himself AS WELL AS the family. doing what his wife wants is not necessarily "whipped".. unless he does it out of fear.
the thing about women, is that most of the times, they have tendency to love and honor their husbands. they give their minds and bodies to their husbands because he is Worth it to them. they love him. they support and commit to him.....EVEN IF the guy is a cheater, a liar, neglectful..... =T.... see, in that case, the problem is usually the man and not the woman.
so if in most cases a woman is completely committed and loving and honorable..why is it that a man does not Want to admit to appreciating that? what is wrong with knowing your wife is awesome, and therefore treating her like she deserves? you are already getting great treatment from the woman.. what makes you a MAN is if you acknowledge, appreciate, and do what is right by her and for her because you gave a vow to take care of her, til death do u part. a man who acts like he doesnt' care, treats her like a slave, and is negative or domineering is not living up to his commitment and vows..therefore not a Real Man because he's not good enough for the woman.

it takes a man to have a successful marriage...
marriage is a long term commitment full of compromises, conversations ups and down.. a real man realises that.. and works on the commitment...
