baseball's playoff system is the most competitive in that only one team that doesnt win a division makes the playoffs as a wildcard/this is not the case with the other professional sports like basketball or hockey/its a great game and although most teams who make the playoffs are heavy on salaries, they still have to perform and win to make it happen/any team has a chance and the yankess are the best example since they have the highest salaries and havent won since 2000

Contracts too high
Wussy penalties for roids
Cause Selig has no cahunas
Playoff system sucks
On the last note, look at the AL west where the 7th or 8th best team in the AL could make the playoffs. Geesh. And cut out like 100 of the games. Season way too long.

just because your some fat, old, hairy, guy in his mid to late 40's who realizes that he cant be active and is probally spending most of his money on porn dosnt mean you can talk about a sport that you clearly have no knowlege about.
First off, there is a salery cap....meaning no team can go over a certian pay roll
Second, if you want to see more teams, why play a regular season, just start playing 3 game series and winner move one
Third, what team are you thinking of? sure they yankees have a huge pay roll, but that dosnt mean there gonna win, thats why you have to love the game of baseball, anything can happen.
oh and next time when you talk about a sport, try to know a little about it before you "diss" it

Your theory might be true for teams like the Red Sox, Yankees and Mets, but keep in mind that big-market teams can spend big-market money. Baseball's more popular in Boston and New York than it is anywhere else in the country. Furthermore, what about teams like Minnesota, Oakland and Florida who keep winning with virtually nothing? Teams don't need to spend millions upon millions to be competitive; all it takes is a commitment to winning, a good mix of high-priced talent and mid-range players, a good farm system and a long-term vision. Also keep in mind that the Yankees haven't won since 2000 and their ownership loses money every year trying desperately to stay competitive with aging superstars who command more money than they deserve and are well past their prime. That'll make you feel better about whatever lower-market team you root for.

That's not true. The Tigers don't have anything that looks like a monster payroll and they're running away with their division. The Yankees haven't been able to buy a title in six years (exception 2003 AL championship). Baseball is still the greatest sport in the world!!

seasons way too long so like nobody pays attention to every game like they do football or other shorter season sports and players can't play every game cause they get worn out after a few straight games. the two leagues have different pitchers batting or not rules

because there is something like 9 innings for every 182 games, excluding all star games as well as playoffs, and preseason. Boring!
