Do we exist after death through memory? what if everyone who knows us, forgets us, do we cease to be? I can't figure all this out.

i believe we all have souls or ghosts inside us. if it takes people remembering us to stay "alive" even after death, well most of us are screwed. lol but this is a good question. you have a deep philosophical mind. i appreciate that. this question is good food for thought. this is one idea i'm going to remember and ponder for sometime myself.

I think of many things. What if there is a god and he's dreaming..but one day he'll wake up and we'll be gone because it was all just an epic dream...then I think of memory and I know that it is not something you can accurately localize in the brain...maybe we live on through our life energies, maybe memory is something which makes us peculiarly one with this living universe...you know what, I can't figure it all out either and I don't think I really need to try...I am not that frightened of death that I have to invent some sort of theological reason to not be afraid of a part of life which happens to us all...maybe we don't go anywhere when we die...maybe we just rot in a box...okay...well, no better reason than to try and make the best of the only life we are gauranteed which is the one we live right now...take care, man.

If I get all A's in my classes and nobody knows, did it really happen?
If I ride a 52 mile bike ride and not a soul but my own knows, did in really happen?
I have often questioned if the past in which my father still existed ever really happened. Was it a dream? Did I make it all up? Was he ever here?
Doubting all things is the first step to acquiring true knowledge.
Sometimes I feel that it's my Job to mourn for my father because I fear that everyone else has stopped and if I stop he will cease. Don't get caught in this trap.

Nothing to figure out. You live until you die. Once you die, your physical being ceases to exist, but the memory of you will survive as long as there's something left behind to remember you by.

Simple.

Well, this brings a question now: Do we actually exist right now?
