Sure. As a matter of fact, it will probably happen in the near future. Women have a strong voice in the politcal and social climate today. This doesn't mean that all women will vote for a woman, but if a party really wants to win the White House, a competent woman candidate would go a long way in this climate.

I do think it WILL happen evntually. Not sure how soon, but I don't think there is any chance that it will be Hillary in 08 or any time.
It will take a very impressive and charismatic women that will be able to conquer the sexism and hesitance that some americans are sure to have towards electing a female president.
I think it will likely we'll have a female VP before president that goes on to succeed in her time after 2 terms as VP.

A woman BETTER be president of the U. S. or we should all pack up and head somewhere that respects, appreciates and values women!!!
Why is it that this country is behind even what some refer to as "developing countries" in electing a woman into a high office? Maybe we are the ones that are still developing?

Not in our lifetime I shouldn't think.
For the same reason that there will never be a black President.
Too much prejudice out there.
I think a female president would be cool. Women see things differently & are able to do 2 or more things at once. Now wouldn't that be a change. Poor GW Bush can't even get his brain cell to do 1 thing properly.

Sadly, I don't think so. It is just the irony of some western countries. While some proclaim equality between sexes, the practice is not the same. Some males would say things like "We 'protect' our ladies in this country", instead of saying that they are equal, which means that women are of 'weaker' sex that needs to be protected. While such thoughts are still prevalents, equality between sexes are not complete.
USA still has a lot of inequality issues to solve, despite their colorful slogans of equality and freedom.

I'd totally vote for a woman if she was the best person to run the country. Hillary Clinton is NOT fit to run a country. Heck, she's not even fit to run a chicken farm.

i believe a woman could be president of any country. i dont believe there is anything in the american constitution that says women cant be, other than that the wording of the declaration of independence is androcentric. all "men" are created equal, not all "people"...
