possibly, if he's and hourly worker, he should bring his work home if they don't pay him when he's there.

He might be, but then he might not be. Is he mad that his company is not paying him OT? Hourly workers by law should get paid for overtime. I'd think if he were telling the truth he would be pretty upset about this. If he's lying, he'd probably not make a big deal of it. Let's hope he's being truthful, though...

Please disregard this if you don't really want to find the truth. Check on-line for legal sites concerning the laws on overtime. Then, make an appointment for you two to speak to a lawyer about suing for pay he's entitled to receive. His reaction should give you your answer. I've only worked for an hourly wage for 35 years, but I've never known of hourly workers working for no pay.

Have you tried calling him on his work phone when he's there for overtime? Or how about driving to work and seeing if his car is in the parking lot. If he is hourly, he should be paid for hours worked over his normal time. But if he's salary then he won't get paid. Keep your eyes and ears open and see if he acts differently.

I would imagine, yes. Hourly people have to get overtime by law. I would say the next time he calls and says he's staying late at the office, show up there. Then you will know. Dont just take his word for it.

He could be. I wouldn't work for a company that would not pay overtime to hourly employees, as this is illegal in most states anyway. I would pop in on him to see if he is really there. Tell him when you see him, you decided that since he as working so hard you decided to take him out to eat for supper. See how he reacts. I hope, for your sake, he is there and is pleasantly surprised by the gesture.

He could be. That's not good if he is. He should be able
to tell you if he's going to meet some of the guys after
for a quick drink. ?? Maybe he is working.

But, he may not be. Could you offer to meet him at his
work so that you could go to dinner at some fab restaurant
out that way? It's a sticky situation because he very well
might be working late. Does he readily accept your calls when
he's at work- late. That's a good thing.

Ask one of the other guys wives if his husband works late-
and if they think it's fair that the guys don't get paid time &
a half. It's a tough situation because you don't want to let
on that you don't trust him. I've been in this situation before
and felt like a real heel for not trusting him. BUT, I got my
piece of mind.

Good luck-

girl if he is an hourly worker those hours should be on that check along with the extra money from overtime. from experience it seems like hes hiding something, why don't you just go to his job? if he isnt' hiding anything he won't mind if he gets mad go without telling him. you have to find out and you can't count on him to tell you you have to see it for yourself. or call CHEATERS.

Putting in extra hours and not getting paid is not anything new, i do it all the time in my profession, and i am sure others do it as well. I guess you have to ask yourself, how much do you trust him, trust is always a very delicate issue.

he is lieing...if he is hourly they have to pay him...if he punches a clock then it doesn't show up on his check because he isn't there.
