Sports Illustrated seems to think so. And I can't say that I completely disagree. My favorite team, the Packers, have truly declined. BUT, I feel that in about two years, both teams will be back in fine form.

I think that with so many players that left or injured has hurt the team. I truly think we can be number 1 again this year dont forget we still had the best record in the division last year and we have the best coach!I am a die hard fan and no matter what they have the best fans in the world!!

The Patriots are kind of like the Packers. Their decline is not really their fault. Packers has been stroke with injuries. The Patriots are getting old. Brady's okay, but Dillon is getting older. They also traded many players away. Their new tight end Ben Watson, might make some changes, but that's a small chance. Patriots are getting old, they can still do great things, but they will need new players. Patriots are on the decline. Packers is my favorite team too, but they are on the decline too. Brett Favre is gonna retire next year, and the packers is gonna need a QB. Packers can do good things this year. They got one of the best defense player in the draft, A.J. Hawk. They also got WR, Greg Jenning. For both team, it's gonna count on their QB a lot.

The Patriots have been plagued by loss of players due to injury and players moving on to other teams. It happens. You can't really expect a team to be at the peak level for more than a few years. They have their day in the sun and then another team takes their place. Which is good because if the same team won all the time it would get boring.

Tonight is the first exhibition game and you have them written off already. Let's break it down. Who in the East is better than the Patriots on paper? Please don't tell me that the Dolphins are rehabilitated because they have Daunte Culpepper. If the Patriots win their division, how much worse will they be? They ought to be able to repeat, and possbly improve on, last year's performance. One or two breaks and they would have beaten the Broncos.
