Drink lots and lots of fluids- even ice cream counts medicinally as a liquid- and try to keep down food.

Take some flu meds, asprin or tylenol- you might want to get some admodium AD to keep the trots down to a minimum.

The key is this however- its a virus, which is a bug that lives inisde of the cells of your body. Until your body figures out "Hey, I need to kill these little bastards" you're going to be sick. Your body has a short memory- it lasts about 12 to 18 months before it needs to "relearn" this "Kill the virus" stuff". The other problem is the Rhinovirus- which causes colds, they are somewhat related- can mutate and last I heard there were over 200 different kinds of this virus. Each one, your body has to learn how to fight if it doesn't figure out how to kill the little bastards first.

Good Luck

Plenty of rest, drink a lot of water, herbal tea, take Vitamin C. I have a pretty bad cold right now, probably caused by virus too, so all I intend to do is stay at home and rest. If the weather's ok tomorrow, I may go for a short walk to get some fresh air.

There's no quick cure for this virus, but there are things you can do to help yourself feel better while you get over it. Drink as much water as you can stomach; as you sweat you'll throw off more toxins more effectively if you drink pure water. Avoid ALL dairy products at all costs. Dairy produces more mucous in the nasal cavities, resulting in worse congestion and the irritation that comes with blowing the nose more often. Try to take as few fever reducing meds as possible. Your body needs the fever to fight the flu virus, and keeping the fever at bay may actually keep you sick longer.

Tama-Flu pills and bed rest. You will feel better three times faster. Don't get right up and go back to what you were doing take it easy. About 5 to seven days remember flu sometimes takes a month or more to shake off

Lots of rest
Plenty of fluids
Try Thera Flu
Or, have your Dr write a RX for tamiflu
It is supposed to shorten the duration of the flu

Eat if you can. Food gives the body fuel with which to fight the good fight. Extra vitamin C helps too. So eat your favourite comfort foods and sit back and relax.
