Well, so far I have 3 american cars. Plan on trading in 2(parting out 1) and to get an Infiniti G35 coupe. The main reason is some still buy american, is due to replacement parts costs. Avg price for an O2 sensor for example, on any car I own is about $80. I had seen the same thing for a toyota Tundra, that had a price was well up to $300. So, as you might see, some things decide why we'd buy an american car still. Even though some of the imports are even built here in the USA.

Depreciation can be a good thing if you're buying used.
And if you are wondering why I insist that my Ford Focus is a good car, the answer is simple: I've put over 20,000 miles on it since I bought it, and other than routine maintenance, the only thing that I've had to do was put in a $30 parking brake handle when the button got stuck. I used to have a Ford Probe that ran up over 200,000 miles. The guy I sold it to is still driving it.
These days, it's best to take things on a car by car basis than to lump all imported cars or all American cars in one category. There are some bad American cars, but not all Japanese cars are created equal either. I had an Isuzu where the engine self-destructed before the warranty was over.

I have had three 200,000 plus mile AMERICAN trucks and 4 mustangs. Plus the cars you refer to as crappy just remember that the Honda Accord is the only car 100% completly built in America, also Nissan is in bed with ford, Onstar which Is ONLY GM is offered on Acuras, The 2.2 liter ecotec engine in most smaller chevrolet vehicles is of Saab design, mercedes owns dodge, ford owns jaguar and land rover, gm owns Saab, So by crappy American cars what exactly do you mean since they are all made pretty much the same now maybe you should look into a newer car instead of something out of the 80's before fuel injection and such thngs were born and almost perfected. The real reason "foreign" cars last longer is that the owners of them do there maintnence as recomended and not just when they feel like it. Also the last water pump I put on my mustangf cost me 50.00 for the part and book time showed it as 1.5 hours which equates to 150.00+50.00=200.00 and no timing belt. The last Accord timing belt and water pump I did paid me 5.5 hours and the parts total was about 500.00 so 550.00+500.00=1050.00 every 60-90k so you tell me which one you would rather own.
P.S. the first water pump on that pony went 110,000 mile and never did anything else other than oil changes, tires, brakes, and spark plugs.

relies upon on the race if i'm racing on a street direction i could be biased in direction of an import or a pony vehicle. on a at as quickly as away i could take the muscle vehicle. the yank vehicle that could do properly in the two environments is obviously the corvette it has at as quickly as away ability and the handling of a small nimble vehicle. besides in immediately's international the muscle vehicles racing days are at the back of it. you purchase muscle vehicles immediately by using fact they stand out in a crowd. they're additionally super babe lures. Imports the two look like each and every thing else on the line or are too high priced to purchase and safeguard, you are trying getting Mercedes or jaguar aspects that's a soreness even for the extra hardship-unfastened variations.

Well all I know is I drive my fords to about 200,000 miles before I sell them and its very rare to have any problems, if I do they are minor wear and tear kinda things, a belt, tires, stuff that wears out on all cars. The Crown Vic is one solid car, on my 3ed one that I drive to over 200k miles, American company's make great large engine cars. If I go foreign, its only European, Asian cars are to small, and seam to only last to about 75k miles before they need major work.

i personally would never waste my money on a crappy import car. i have 324,000 miles, untouched, original motor, in my GMC truck. no jap truck could do what i have done with the truck. they may be capable of the mileage. if you drive like a grandpa and dont haul/tow etc.

Hello, foreign car lover. I had a foreign car - a Toyota, and I have sold and driven Saabs. I now have a Saturn, a GM car, and I have to admit that it is the best car I have ever had!

AMERICAN!! I love muscle cars, and know a guy with a brand new Corvette ZO6. It cost $75000!!! I rode in it and no Honda or Nissan could EVER touch it! Exotics are cool, but japenese cars SUCK!! Support our country! The Viper could kill a Supra or Skyline. Nothing like HEMI POWER!!!!!!!!!!!
