I think you actually mean that the lyric was "Hide in the kitchen, hide in the hall." Elvis meant just what he sang.

He didn't say he -was- the kitchen or hall. He said 'you can hide in the kitchen, hide in the hall...' The song is about him wanting to make out with this girl and nothing's going to stop him from making out with said girl, even if she runs away.

It's "Hide in the kitchen, Hide in the hall, Ain't gonna do you no good at all, 'cause once I catch you and the kissin' starts, a team of wild horses couldn't tear us apart."

Hmm..i think he means I am everything you want and need. People need the kitchen to cook, and people walk down a hall..? I dunno...That's my guess.
