i was wondering if could mean go TO God

It means "go with God". It is a hopeful farewell.
Most people would say it with positive sincerity, but it could also be used in a somewhat negative way to imply that you're embarking upon something dangerous, foolhardy, or likewise, from which the person bidding you farewell expects you might not return.

Vaya con Dios means "go with God" (or" God goes with you" if you want) It is a farewell ans a blessing at the same time. IT is very positive (at least for Christians)

Positive I would think. I want God to go with me at all times, I can't think of a situation that it would be negative to have God with me. Close as He pleases thank you very much :-)

It is Spanish, and several people have already given you the literal translation.
It seems to have a positive connotation, since it implies that God will take care of you.

Go with God. How can it have a negative connotation? It means, be safe, May God Be WIth You, etc.

As far as I know, it's usually used in a positive sense. I don't know how it could be used negatively.

depends how u use it......vaya con dios can mean go with god, as in your journey....may god me with you.......
if ur trying to kill someone or wish them bad luck..the vaya con dios can mean meet your maker
