I am Iranian but live in the US. I moved here in 1979 at the beginning of the revolution.

Once the hostages were taken, I was like in 4th grade and my brother was in 2nd.

My brother's 2nd grade teacher, an adult, asked my 7 year old brother why his country took hostages. That question was asked of me by other kids. That put a lot of pressure on me, for no reason. At age 9, I didn't work for the government and neither did my brother at age 7.

We left Iran to be stay free. The revolution was changing everything, for the worse. However, we learned there was a lot of ignorant people in the US who passed judgements and believed everything they saw on the TV. I myself watched 7 hours of TV a day, as a kid. However, of course, I knew about the other side others weren't seeing.

Most things you have heard about Iran are not true, AT ALL! What you know about Iran is ZERO compared to the truth.

What's the point of talking if you are not willing to listen and learn about the other side before you communicate false messages

I can understand why Americans dislike Iran. We all know that the revolution began with the capture and occupation of the US Embassy in Tehran. The Americans tried to send in Chinook helicopters but they crashed in the desert and the covert rescue mission had to be aborted.

America has never been able to forgive Iran this humiliation.

I am not American so my eye glasses are not tinted. I see things as they are. I have had the good fortune of visiting Iran. Tehran is a lovely city. I found it very clean. A clean city is a mark of an advance civilisation.

I fell in love with all the beautiful young women I saw everywhere. But I could see how they are burdened by the yoke of the mullahs. Most young women in Tehran wear the black gowns but they expose half their blond heads. And every time the veil parts you see their blue jeans.

The young people of Iran are crying to be free of the hypocrisy and yearn to express themselves freely and fully.

LET THE PEOPLE GO YOU AYATOLLAHS LET YOUR PEOPLE FREE.

I haven't yet been but I would love to go. The country fascinates me with its amazing history. I wish I had seen the exhibition of ancient Persian artifacts when it was on in London but I did not get the chance. The few Iranians that I have had the pleasure to meet have all been lovely, friendly, kind and caring people. I am also addicted to mozafati dates and pistachio halva! I have read "Reading Lolita in Tehran" more than once and each time pick out new details which intrigue me.

Hell no I would never go to Iran unless it was free, I think the media is true, when I think about Iran I think of those women carrying a small child, running, crying, bombs and thats about it because I can get a bit naive. They have hated us sine the 1950's so I'm pretty scared.
