Shouldn't govenment and individuals have the maturity not to offend large groups like Muslims who in 1999 were a fifth of the world's population!!??? That's alot of potential people you are offending, and a large resource from which the crazy insighters of Islam fundamentalism can recruit young green volunteers willing to do what the brainwashing dictates.
Suggestion to combat present violence and spreading secularist anger and threats?
Don't identify the problems we are having now with Muslims, but with fundamentalists/preachers/bombers who are individuals, recruited and brainwashed by fanatics.

Yes, I am talking about referring aggressively to perceived 'others' on a public site that recieves millions of people.
That could be muslims, gays, americans....

the issue isn't how many people you're offending, but rather the fact that people are attacking other groups of people because of a lack of understanding, and ill venture to say that they have been brainwashed by the government and media. a little bit of compassion and intelligence would go a long way.

It's not just the young green volunteers who are rising up. It is average Joe (Yusef, in this case) who is fed up with American aggression and violence and taking up arms against it.

That's the scariest part, the moderate person is becoming angrier by the day.

And what does xenophobia have to do with your question?

Xenophhobia means.."A fear, dislike or hatred of strangers or aliens". Are you implying that anyone who mentions the word Muslims, in this forum, is xenophobic?, or , are you just using the word as a substitute for that tired, old and over used cop out ...Racist! Change the record, friend, we are not being fooled by these people!

Totally support your concerns, and i guess that's where people like us come in, to remind idiots of the reality we live in and not allow racism or any other oppressive ideology to go unchallenged.

Not sure i have the energy to keep doing it though!

Why should a religion as big and as old as Islam be offended by the mutterings of a few heathens and infidels? Its big enough and ugly enough to blow us all up..... oh right, silly me - it all ready does that.

I completely agree with the sentiment, though I don't really see
how this is a question.
