It all depends on your baby. Every child has different needs. I started my oldest daughter on baby food when she was 2 months old. I got into an arguement with my ped about this because she said I couldn't give her baby food until she was at least 4 months. I changed my ped & did what I knew my daughter needed. At 2 months old she was drinking a full 9 oz. bottle of formula with cereal in it & as soon as she was done she would cry just like she hadn't eaten anything at all. My second child started baby food at about 4 months, which is when most docs say it is ok. My youngest 2 both had eczema, real sensitive skin, and one of them had bronchialitis at 6 weeks (which could have been an early sign of asthma but thank goodness it wasn't). So with having these sensitivities already at a very young age they were more likely to develop food allergies if we would have started them on baby food too soon. So they didn't start on baby food until around 6 months. So it really does depend on each child & what works best for them. If you feel your baby is not getting full & you have already introduced cereal, then I would say go ahead & start baby food. Go with your intincts & what you think is best for your baby. Good luck.

It is really different from child to child. Too young would be 1 month for baby food but not cereal. If you ask a doctor they will say 6 months. Hardly any parent waits that long. When starting stage one jar food, do one variety at a time. For example...try bananas for one week and closely monitor your child for any reactions...rashes, change in stool, stuffy nose. Remember you don't know what your child is allergic too yet so everything is trial and error at this point. Be advised do not give egg whites, honey, shellfish, strawberries, or peanut butter in the first year. These foods have a high allergy rate (except for honey which contains a bacteria that will harm baby). Good luck.

they recommend no earlier than 4 months and to start on bland rice cereals - but i know some mothers choose to start earlier - and i guess under certain circumstances and after seeking professional advice its sometimes earlier also
The main reason for not starting earlier i believe or i was always told with my kids - was due to the kidneys etc still forming and the foods being too strong for the babys tiny body to handle, it would be too much of a strain. If in doubt do discuss it with a professional

You can add rice to their bottles a lot early than you can feed them baby food. Baby food is something normally at 6 months.

You're probably better off asking your dr. But usually at around 6 months you can start with the baby cereal and then at 9 months try the babyfood. Start with the vegetables first before the fruit. If you start with fruit, they will not acclimate to the more sour taste of vegetables and you'll have a hard time trying to get your baby or child to eat them.

he's sufficiently old to start on the cereal and toddler nutrition. commencing out basically provide him the rice cereal together with his generic formula After 4 or 5 days if he's doing solid on that upload a vegetable , like carrots, after yet another 3 -4 days upload some peas to the menu. So by utilising day 12 he would be ingesting cereal , carrots, and peas. by utilising waiting 3 - 4 days earlier introducing a clean nutrition you may tell if he 'll have a reaction to a particular merchandise. that's maximum suitable at the beginning the vegetables earlier the culmination, as he want the culmination and refuse the vegetables later.

You can start them on infant cereal at 4 months, baby food at 6 months. Any sooner and you are setting yourself up for food allergies and upset tummies.
I know that some parents start them sooner without problems, but it isn't recommended.

No earlier than 4 months of age.For one reason your baby is getting all of the nutrients he or she needs from formula or breast milk they simply do not need the extra food. Also studies have shown that the earlier "solid food" is given the higher chances of childhood obesity occurs, and lastly food allergies can be more pronounced the younger a child is and potentially more harmful.
