how can i improve drainage on an enclosed compacted gravel surface?

Will a looser gravel soak-away be enough? Any ideas appreciated.

The only way is quit drastic, you will have to dig a sump in the centre of the area, then either give it lots of drainage in the sump or fit a small submersible pump which when the sump is full you turn on and it pumps it away to another part of the garden or a storm drain (not a main drain), good luck.
