Try an electronic organizer or a cell phone with an alarm. Then sit down and work on a schedule of events a week at a time and then add new ones as they come up. For the first few weeks set alarms well in advance, allowing for things like changing clothes, make up, travel time and procrastination. You can also use a kitchen timer to retrain yourself to accurately estimate how much time it takes you to do certain things or say if you're going to allow yourself _____ minutes to accomplish a task. My son only had to do this for two weeks before he didn't really need timers and reminders to keep him on track with a full schedule of school, work, errands, homework/studying and social events with family and friends. Good luck!

Without knowing the habit it is a little hard to give specifics. But in general. If you can talk to someone like a counselor it might help identify why you have the habit. If you want to do it on your own, try to keep a journal. Write down the day and time you did this bad habit, what was your mood at the time, what was going on in your life at the time. Usually if you can identify the triggers of why you do this bad habit it will make it easier to break the habit and find a better one. Try to walk away and do something else when you feel cravings for this habit, remove yourself from a situation that might make it easier. Cold-turkey can be very dangerous depending on the habit. Shoot me an email if you want to talk more.

Try to think about why you do it. Is it absolutely necessary for you to do this to continue on with your day? What good is it doing you? If it's a bad habit, it's probably doing you more harm than good. Relax and breathe deeply. Listen to some peaceful music and give yourself a break from this habit. =)

Try to persuade yourself that it is wrong and embarrassing to do whatever bad habit it is. Tell yourself it is not worth being made fun of or judged by others over it.

get a job where you have to punch a time clock! That worked for me....or get in a van-pool or carpool. you'll learn the hard way, that is about the only way it will sink in.

You MUST answer this question:
"What stops you from being considerate and showing up on time?"
Answer that question honestly and you will never be late again...
