A rose colored mineral specimen is given to you for identification. It has a conchoidal fracture, no streak, and a non-metallic luster. It has can be scratched with a steel file, but not with glass or a pocketknife blade. It has no streak. Its mass is 53 grams. you place it in water and it displaces a volume of 20 cubic centimeters of water.
A - What is the hardness of this mineral.? PLEASE Explain.
B - What is the specific gravity of this mineral?

Scratch test with file shows hardness less than 7.5 (Moh's Scale). No scratch with knife or glass says => 7.0.

Specific gravity is 53 grams / 20 cc, or 2.65 gm/cc.

What mineral is rose-colored, Moh's of 7, spg of 2.65?

Rose Quartz.

Sounds kinda like feldspar
Specific gravity is calculated this way density of the material divided by the density of water. The density of the material is the mass over the volume.
The conchoidal fracturing and non-metallic luster are common properties of many minerals though. More properties would be helpful, like the cleavage. Perhaps some of the reference sites will help.

based on the density and description it sounds like granite. Granite usually has a density of 2.667 g/cc and has a hardness around 6-8
