I use a live box-trap. it's got a little tunnel through it. Bait it with peanut butter, and when the mice go through the tunnel, they trip a lever which flips the entire contents of the tunnel into the holding area. You can catch multiple mice, as it's a wind-up thing, and one winding will flip the tunnel many times.

I caught about a dozen mice in my old house using that. Completely took care of the problem. It still have it just in case.

Oh - and mice tend to "home" pretty well, so if you release them, takes them at least 2 miles away from your house to do it.

Oh - and before I caught them all - I had wondered what their food and water source were...turns out it was the dog's food and water! They were havin' a buffet!! Found a squrriled-away pile of kibble in various gnawed-away sizes under & behind stuff in the pantry a month later....

I believe the sticky traps ought to be banned. They are inhumane. Cats are a great solution. Mice are an annoyance but I don't believe in getting ride of nuisances in cruel ways.

Whoever invented those sticky traps doesn't care about anything except making money.

best trap......get a bucket of any sort at least 12 inch tall get a plastic bottle and a dowel{old arrow},poke a hole through the bottom of the bottle so that it spins freely then put it across the sides of the bucket which you should put 2-3 inches of water in around the plastic bottle wipe on peanut butter in the middle of bottle as the mice {plural} go to get the pbutter it spins they fall in and drown it works and can catch meny mice before you have to put more pbutter on. good luck

Get a cat or two. Better than mousetraps, more humane. A cat who relishes a good kill is the best mouser, as he tends to be quick and efficient, as well as neat.
