The best website that your daughter can look at to learn more about her montly cycle is www.gurl.com. Once you get to gurl.com then go to
Fast Facts
Deal Wiht It!
Then there is a picture that lables periods: here's how it works...
Click on that link and it shows a video of what is happening to your daughter every week of the month.
This is a great website not only to learn about your menstrual system but all things a girl wants to know. I hope this website helped you and your daughter out the most.
-It's great being a girl

Forget the internet. Go to your library or bookstore, and for around $9 you can pick up a copy of "The Care & Keeping of You" published by American Girl. BOTH my daughters use this book to help them with things like using tampons, charting your cycle, etc., that they don't really want to discuss with me. My youngest daughter carries it with her when she goes on sleepovers, etc. It is easy to read and has helpful, non-sexual illustrations.

Try these links and maybe contact the companies for "starter kit" type of info...

I also recommend getting a copy of the Endo Research Center's Girl Talk Kit, which contains info on painful periods - something some girls won't talk about because they think it's normal. You can get your copy for free. Visit http://www.endocenter.org/girltalk.htm to learn more and download your copy for free via http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ERCGirlTalk [free membership required, just ask for the Kit for your daughter]. Best wishes.

I'd Yahoo or Google search sites for answering concerns on women's issues for advice mothers can offer their pre-teen and "budding flowerblossom" daughters.

beinggirl.com is good about reachin little girls and letting them know about their cycle without trying to downplay it.
