No need to run to the ER. This isn't an emergency by any means.

Your mucus plug does not have to have pink in it. If it does then it is called "bloody show" The plug also does not POP OUT. It is slimmy like snot. Like the kind of snot that you blow out of your nose when you have a cold. Semen is thinner.

So it does sound like your plug. Loosing it does NOT necessitate a call to your OB. It is just part of having a baby. Some women never notice loosing it. I lost my first one over a few days time.

So what does it mean to loose your plug? Having relations with your mate might have helped things to get started. Semen is good for softening up your cervix. So things might have started but it could still be a week or two away before birth. So all it means is that something is happening. Might mean you are starting to dilate. Might mean you are just softening up down there.

Good luck to you!

When I lost my mucus plus with all 5 of my kids, there was no blood, no pink, no nothing.
I never even knew I had lost it until I went to see my OB/GYN for my next checkup, at 37 weeks, this sounds like it is about the right time for it to happen.
From my own personall experiance, once you lose it, you usually go into labor in about a weeks time, give or take a few days.

Each woman is differant, some lose it all at once, others lose it slowly bit by bit.
Some women go into labor a day or two after they lose their plug, others can go a week or two later.

If your water broke, or you were bleeding heavily, then I would say worry.
Since you are so far along, you will find out for sure in a week when you see your doctor next.

My personall instinct says it was your plug, mainly because of the yellowish tinge , the white was probably your husbands semen.

Congratz on the upcoming birth!

You need to go to the E R to make sure because I experience the same thing and it was my mucus plug but it wasn't no blood or anything just a big blog and I had my baby the next day so the best thing for you to do is just go to the ER to make sure they will test you and you will be a 100% sure

the plug is usually like a clot of mucus and sometimes with SOME blood tingled in with it. With you being that far along I would have to say COULD HAVE BEEN. AFter people lose it then they seem to sometimes have some really light spotting or cramping that can be the onset of labor. Then again labor could be a couple weeks away just watch out for cramping that could be a key sign. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS

I think the mucus plug looks like..mucus, and has pink/red in it ...and if you think it was your mucus plug, call a nurse. She will probably tell you there isn't anything to worry about, because you can go months without having the baby after losing the mucus plug...but I'd still call.

And I completely understand your asking. When I was pregnant I asked everyone about everything, just to be sure!

If it's not pink, it's probably not the mucus plug. I didn't even know
when my water broke- I thought I was just having incontinent problems because the baby was sitting on my bladder! Later that night, I had sudden intense labor pains and just barely made it to the hospital!! -- She was my 2nd, though. 1st took longer!

So- it's best to err on the side of good judgement. If you have any other signs, call your doctor. Since it's Friday here, I'd call just to check in before the weekend.

Good luck!! Happy Baby!

Isn't it great just knowing that you can somewhat relax. If your baby was born today, she'd make it perfectly fine. I'm excited for you. And your husband- Congrats to him for having a sexy wife.

It usually will have blood if it's the mucus plug. But, the indisputable way you're going to be able to tell for sure is that after losing the mucus plug, labor will begin usually anytime within the next couple of days.

not unless you have a microscope etc... go to the doctor and get checked. You may go into labor soon if it was your mucus plug. It will give you peice of mind anyway. If it was a lot of stuff, it might have been the plug.
