Please, what World Cup were you watching? Not the one everyone else saw. Beckham is past his prime. His contract with Real Madrid expires next year and it will be a miracle if anyone picks him up because he is too expensive and doesn't have what it takes anymore.
Number one, his foot speed is gone. He was never one of the fastest players out there, but he could keep up. Now, he can't get around any defenders anymore. Did you see him once this past World Cup get around any of the defenders pressuring him? If you say yes I want a specific instance, because I saw each of the England games and not once did I see him get around anybody.
The reason he became such a big commodity in the 90s was because of his skill at placing a ball. He wass soccer's version of Peyton Manning - he could, and still can, place a ball on the ground, in the air, within inches of a target zone. That's a valuable asset. Except now, he can never get open to do that, because the defenders are younger and faster than he is. So not only can he not score, he can't even assist.
He had a terrible World Cup. And that's why he was cut. He's had a great career, but it's not long before he's permanently retired.

I agree! He provides solidarity to a team even however he has seen extra suited days he has the 'F' factor. And whilst i delight in John Terry he would not have the umph that David Beckham has. Why do human beings doubt his ability whilst he has in simple terms signed a deal properly worth megga greenbacks. do we predict of that folk could placed funds into him if he weren't a the main charsmatic guy or woman in soccer immediately. he isn't necessary the superb yet he has the feel good factor necessary to grant an entire team self belief and thereby bringing out the superb in man or woman gamers and team individuals. Davis Beckham will continuously have my help!

good question i cant believe hes left off the roster. becks was clearly the best player for england in this past world cup- carrying them on his shoulders. sure he isnt the fastest but hes always seeing whats going on on the field and getting the ball where it needs to be
